Our client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their dynamic team in a well-equipped practice. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work in a varied and interesting environment, without the need for on-call or night duties.

The successful candidate will work alongside a talented team of nurses, many of whom are pursuing or have completed advanced certificates in areas such as anaesthesia, analgesia, and surgical nursing. This position allows the candidate to contribute to both first opinion work and more specialised cases, including imaging, medicine, cardiology, and surgery. There is strong support for continuous professional development, with flexible CPD allowances and opportunities to undertake certificates.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Offer outstanding care to clients, ensuring clear communication and updates on patient progress.
  • Develop tailored, accurate treatment and care plans with transparent cost estimates.
  • Maintain professional excellence by adhering to the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and optimising their contributions to the practice.
  • Share and support clinical best practices within and across practices and the wider community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality care to both patients and clients.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership abilities.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of their impact on practice performance and efficiency.
  • Proficient in coaching and influencing colleagues to maximise their potential.
