Job Description

A prominent provider of veterinary care in the UK, with a network of practices that includes several 24-hour veterinary and referral centres, is currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to join their team. This role involves working four days per week with a fair share of weekends. It offers the opportunity to work in a well-equipped, spacious practice, delivering high-quality care to a diverse client base.

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will join a dedicated team in a modern clinic designed for both patient and client comfort. The practice features separate dog and cat waiting areas, spacious consulting rooms, and a large preparation area with walk-in kennels. You will be responsible for providing exceptional clinical care, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the practice, and supporting the ongoing development of your team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients, providing updates on patient care.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored treatment and care plans with accurate cost estimates for each patient.
  • Mentor and develop team members, maximising their skills and contributions.
  • Complete clinical handovers and manage the transfer of patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Proactively share and support clinical best practices within the practice and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Familiarity with supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures, and understanding their impact on practice performance and efficiency.
  • Effective use of coaching and influencing skills to enhance team performance.
