Job Description

Our client is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and welcoming team. This role is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, offering the opportunity to work in a sole-charge capacity with the potential to expand and shape the team.

This role offers significant clinical freedom, allowing the successful candidate to manage cases to the highest standard. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will have the autonomy to take the practice in the direction you choose, with the possibility of progressing to a Lead Veterinary Surgeon role. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team, including an experienced practice manager, two RVNs, and a veterinary care assistant, with no out-of-hours responsibilities. The practice is equipped with modern facilities, including two consultation rooms, a theatre, x-rays, a laboratory, an in-house dental suite, ultrasound, and multi-parameter surgical monitoring equipment.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide outstanding care to clients, ensuring clear communication and updates on patient progress.
  • Maintain professional excellence, adhering to the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate and tailored treatment and care plans for each patient, including clear cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop the team, enhancing their skills and optimising their contributions.
  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange the transfer of patients needing out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Share and support clinical best practices within the practice and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Strong ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of their impact on clinic performance and efficiency.
  • Proficient in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve the best outcomes.
