Job Description

Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a mixed or large animal veterinary surgeon to join their dedicated team on a twelve-month, fixed-term contract. This role is based in a well-established practice and provides a chance to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment.

The successful candidate will work alongside a team of experienced professionals, including nine vets, a nurse, two student nurses, and various support staff. They will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care and service, with opportunities to engage in both routine and complex cases. Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear and compassionate communication with clients, ensuring they are well-informed about their pets’ conditions and treatments.
  • Uphold the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare accurate and tailored treatment and care plans with clear cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop team members, enhancing their skills and utilising them effectively.
  • Complete clinical handovers and arrange the transfer of patients requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
  • Share and support clinical best practices within the practice and across the broader community.

 

Requirements

  • Registered with the RCVS as a Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills and the ability to foster a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to maximise team performance.
