Job Description

Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a large or mixed animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team at a well-established practice. This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours per week over four days, with a 1:5 rotation for weekends and nights on call. They are also open to part-time applications and flexible working arrangements to accommodate individual needs.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team comprising a diverse group of professionals, including veterinary surgeons, nurses, patient care assistants, and administrative staff. They will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cases and contribute to projects that enhance patient care and client service. Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide clear updates to clients on their pets’ conditions and care plans.
  • Maintain professional excellence by adhering to the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored, accurate treatment plans for each patient, including transparent cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop the team, enhancing their skills and optimising performance.
  • Conduct clinical handovers and coordinate patient transfers for out-of-hours or specialised care.
  • Actively support and share clinical best practices within the practice and the wider veterinary community.

 

Requirements

  • RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional care to patients and clients.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong clinical leadership skills.
  • Experience in fostering a progressive clinical culture.
  • Knowledge of supporting nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Proficiency in coaching and influencing to maximise team performance.
