Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established veterinary practice offering a wide range of services. They are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to contribute to their ongoing success.

The successful candidate will become a key member of a two-vet practice, supported by a fantastic team of nurses, including an HVN, SVN, and two VCAs. The role offers the opportunity to work with advanced diagnostic equipment, such as digital and dental x-rays, an ultrasound machine, a tono-pen, and in-house biochemistry and haematology machines. They will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a nearby 24-hour hospital to access specialised services, including CT scans, MRI, and complex procedures. The role offers flexibility with a work schedule of 2-4 days per week and a 1:6 full weekend rotation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional clinical care to patients during consultations and procedures.
  • Provide outstanding client care, ensuring clear communication and updates.
  • Maintain the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
  • Prepare tailored treatment and care plans with accurate cost estimates.
  • Mentor and develop team members, optimising their skills and contributions.
  • Conduct clinical handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours or specialised care.
  • Promote and share clinical best practices within and across practices.

 

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS.
  • Proven experience in delivering exceptional patient and client care.
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate clinical leadership and foster a progressive clinical culture.
  • Experience in supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures.
  • Skilled in coaching and influencing colleagues to achieve their best.
