Job Description

A leading veterinary care provider is excited to offer an opportunity for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in medicine to join a dynamic team at one of their 24-hour hospitals. This is a permanent, full-time role with flexible scheduling options, working 39 hours per week across four days, including one full weekend in four.

The successful candidate will work as part of a passionate, highly skilled team, including several vets, nurses, and receptionists. They will have the chance to contribute to the hospital’s ongoing success in delivering top-tier patient and client care. Whether working in wards or consultations, the role will be integral to maintaining high clinical standards while continually developing expertise, with or without a certificate in medicine.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional clinical care in consultations and procedures.
• Provide clear, consistent communication with clients about patient updates.
• Maintain high standards in regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
• Develop and mentor the team, optimising their skillsets.
• Create detailed, tailored care plans for patients with clear cost estimates.
• Ensure smooth handovers and arrange transfers for patients requiring out-of-hours care.
• Share and promote best clinical practices within the wider veterinary community.

Requirements

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon.
• Proven track record in delivering high-quality patient and client care.
• Ability to lead and mentor teams.
• Strong experience in fostering a progressive clinical environment.
• Expertise in supporting nurse consultations and Schedule 3 procedures.
• Skills in coaching and team collaboration to maximise performance.
