Job Description

A veterinary clinic is seeking a friendly Veterinary Surgeon to join their team on a part-time basis! With great transport links into the town centre and neighbouring areas, this location is ideal for those who enjoy an active lifestyle. The international airport nearby is also perfect for a quick getaway or visiting family.

They are looking for an additional vet to join their team, working up to 30 hours per week. This role aims to ease the pressure on their current vets, allowing for more flexibility in the rota and time off. The successful candidate will be part of a close-knit team, currently comprising 3 vets (one CertAVP with a special interest in dermatology and two enrolled in CertAVP), 4 RVNs, 2 VCAs, and 2 CCAs, led by the 3 owners. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive environment with plenty of room for professional growth.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct consultations (15-minute slots with downtime for paperwork and breaks)
• Perform surgeries if interested (mix of consults and surgery possible)
• Provide sole charge on weekends (1 in 4)
• Support the practice’s workload alongside nurses conducting nurse-only consults

Requirements:

• Ideally, a couple of years of experience in the veterinary industry
• Ability to handle occasional sole charge on weekends
• New graduates are welcome with support available from experienced vets
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Flexible approach to work, whether focusing on consultations or a mix of consults and surgeries
