Job Description
The practice is in the enviable position of being recently refurbished to a high standard. It boasts two consultation rooms, a separate nurse consultation area, a large prep room (often joked about as a place for Pilates classes!), a spacious waiting area, a designated imaging room, a refurbished theatre with new ultrasound, dental, and radiography machines, and a staff room. It really is a lovely space to work in!
This is a great opportunity to lead and support a small team, working together to provide a high-quality level of service to clients. The role offers a varied caseload with interesting cases, allowing you to shape and grow the practice while providing a much-appreciated service for local pets. Despite the role being sole charge, there is plenty of support available for more challenging cases (medical or surgical).
Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional clinical care during consultations and procedures.
- Provide excellent care to clients, offering clear updates on patients.
- Ensure professional excellence by observing the highest standards of regulatory, practice, and operational compliance.
- Prepare tailored, accurate treatment and care plans with clear cost estimates.
- Engage, mentor, and develop your team, enhancing their skills and using these in the most effective way.
- Complete clinical handovers and arrange the transfer of any patient requiring out-of-hours or enhanced care.
- Proactively share clinical best practices within the practice and across the wider community of practices.
Requirements:
- RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon.
- Experienced in delivering exceptional care to both patients and clients.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrable clinical leadership skills.
- Experience in implementing a progressive clinical culture.
- Experience in supporting nurse consultations and schedule 3 procedures, with an understanding of how this contributes to clinic performance and efficiency.
- Skilled in using coaching and influencing techniques to get the best out of every colleague.
