Job Description
They are a long-established, high-quality veterinary practice offering first-opinion care for small animals. As part of a wider veterinary group, they take pride in modern facilities, an experienced clinical team, and a commitment to excellent patient and client care. They are currently seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon (minimum five years’ experience) to join a friendly and supportive team. While this is ideally a full-time role, flexible working arrangements may be discussed.
The successful candidate will join a collaborative team of veterinary surgeons and nurses managing a high and varied caseload. There are excellent opportunities to develop clinical interests, particularly in surgery or orthopaedics, and to work alongside visiting specialists. The post-holder will have access to a well-equipped practice and a nurturing environment that supports professional growth and development.

- Provide high-quality veterinary care during consultations, diagnostics, medical management and surgery
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient care and client service

- Support the development of junior team members and contribute to clinical learning within the practice
- Ensure accurate clinical records and adherence to all protocols and policies
Requirements
- MRCVS-qualified with a minimum of five years’ experience in small animal practice
- Confident managing a broad and varied caseload independently
- A clinical interest in surgery or orthopaedics is desirable
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to take part in the on-call rota, supported by experienced night RVNs
- A commitment to ongoing learning and CPD
Benefits
- Competitive salary range of £40,000–£60,000, depending on experience
- 6.6 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata), including bank holidays, with a holiday buy-back scheme available
- £1,700 CPD allowance per year and five paid CPD days (pro rata); certificates supported and funded
- RCVS and VDS fees covered, plus two additional professional memberships
- Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and surrogacy pay
- Private medical insurance available through group payroll deduction
- Staff pets treated at cost (within reason), with well-behaved pets welcome at work
- On-site accommodation for on-call duties (private flat with shower and TV)
- £22.50/month corporate gym membership and Cycle to Work scheme
- One paid volunteering day per year (pro rata)
- A supportive team culture, with wellbeing initiatives and regular social events
