Job Description
An independent, vet-owned small animal practice is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and supportive team. The successful candidate will join a well-established team of skilled vets, RVNs, and friendly support staff who work collaboratively across two fully equipped sites. The position offers the opportunity to deliver excellent patient care without corporate pressure or upselling. Responsibilities
- Consult with confidence and compassion using 20-minute appointments
- Perform routine surgeries and diagnostics to a high standard
- Contribute to a team-oriented, preventative-care-focused practice
- Support colleagues through mentorship, collaboration, and shared learning
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure continuity of care
- Build lasting, trust-based relationships with clients and their pets
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years’ small animal clinical experience
- Competence in routine surgery and diagnostics
- Strong communication and client care skills
- A collaborative, positive attitude and team-player mindset
- Commitment to ongoing CPD and professional development
- A good sense of humour and appreciation for team camaraderie is a plus
Benefits
- Salary: £45,000 – £65,000, depending on experience and hours
- No out-of-hours work – ever
- Full-time, part-time or flexible hours (1–4 days per week)
- £1,500 CPD budget
- RCVS, VDS, and one additional subscription covered
- 20-minute consults and full clinical freedom
- Excellent equipment, including lap spay kit, digital X-ray, Doppler ultrasound, capnography and more
