Job Description
Our client, a veterinary practice, is currently seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join their team in expanding the services they provide to their clients.
They are a small and friendly team consisting of two Veterinary Surgeons, three nurses, and one VCA, supported by an experienced front-of-house team. The practice owner, who is also a Veterinary Surgeon, established the veterinary practice 10 years ago with the aim of delivering a caring and compassionate service to the local community.
About Their Practice:
The friendly, relaxed, and collaborative culture within the team has resulted in many members staying with the practice for several years. Support and advice on cases are readily available as the Veterinary Surgeons often bounce thoughts off each other throughout the day. The practice has a particular interest in feline behavior, with one of the Veterinary Surgeons holding an advanced certificate in this area. As an ISFM accredited practice, they hold ‘cat-only’ clinics two evenings and one morning each week, and they have separate cat and dog wards in their stand-alone practice. The Veterinary Surgeons take pride in being a nurse training practice and enjoy watching their team progress through their time with them. Monthly lunch and learns are provided to support this progression. Likewise, the practice encourages and supports any interests a new Veterinary Surgeon brings to the team.
The Role:
This can be a full or part-time role, and they are pleased to offer a flexible rota to suit the candidate’s commitments. Their ‘normal’ rota consists of a mix of consultations and surgeries, but they can accommodate someone looking for a consult-only role. They also have flexibility with their diary, with each Veterinary Surgeon having a slightly different set-up in terms of breaks. Their nursing team picks up specific consultations and procedures to help support the Veterinary Surgeons throughout the day. There is potential for occasional sole charge depending on team holidays. Ideally, the candidate will join their 1 in 4 Saturday rota (8:45-12:45), but this can be discussed during the interview. This position will suit a Veterinary Surgeon confident with routine consults and surgery, looking to make their career work in the best way possible for their own commitments.
As well as the opportunity to progress clinically, there is also a partnership opportunity, if this is something the Veterinary Surgeon is interested in.
Compensation & Benefits:
In addition to a salary commensurate with experience (£40,000-£55,000), they also offer a competitive benefits package, including:
- Paid memberships
- Visa sponsorship
- Relocation package (£2,000)
- CPD allowance
- Up to 30% off across the Pets network and access to the Pets reward hub offering discounts across a number of high street retailers.
The town offers excellent schools, an affordable cost of living, and convenient access to nearby cities, thanks to an excellent transport network.
So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
