Veterinary Surgeon

Job Overview

Job Description

If you’re seeking a flexible veterinary surgeon role where you can develop your skills and pursue areas of interest, then there is a great opportunity for you!

Our client’s practice is situated in a town within a beautiful countryside area. Just a short drive and you’re in the rural countryside. There are numerous amazing country parks dotted throughout the town and area, perfect for clearing your head, opening your lungs, and walking four-legged friends too. It is a fast-paced and busy surgery; however, with their strong dedicated team, there isn’t anything they haven’t and cannot accomplish!

The importance of that family feeling is shared from their team to their clients/patients. Just to name one of those personal touches, they provide end-of-life bags including prints of our loved ones.

The Role:

You’ll be joining an inclusive, supportive team who are passionate about being at the heart of the local community. You will be one of their three veterinary surgeons, with a recent recruit of a clinical lead who holds an acupuncture certificate. They aim to set up and run an alternative therapy clinic using laser therapy in the future. Our client’s practice provides excellent facilities, giving you access to all the equipment and space you need to care for your patients.

They’re generous with their CPD offering, which colleagues are actively encouraged to use to further their interests and develop their skills in a direction of their choosing. So, if you want to pursue a post-graduate qualification or certificate, they’re happy to help support that.

Ideally, they are looking for full-time hours, but they are happy to work with you to find a pattern that works for both of you. The weekends are on a 1 in 3 rota basis with limited cover to keep it fair for everyone.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive salary up to £60K
  • Pension scheme
  • Healthcare benefits
  • Paid memberships
  • Excellent career progression opportunities
  • Exclusive lifestyle and shopping discounts (up to 30% off at Pets at Home)
  • Relocation packages from within or outside the UK, including visa sponsorship if needed (they’re an A+ rated sponsor)

About you:

You should have small animal experience gained as a general practitioner and great people skills. You will be comfortable with sole charge but will also relish being part of a team. Pets just see people. And just like pets, they embrace everyone’s differences. They work to break down barriers, attract and develop diverse talent, and create a culture that allows everyone to be the best they can be.

Their diversity and inclusion vision is that everyone is welcome and feels part of their group. So, if you think you’re a good match to what they are looking for, and you share their belief that together ‘we’re better with pets’, they’re waiting to hear from you, whatever your background or circumstances.

So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
