Job Description
Having recently taken on the ownership of a veterinary practice, the owners are now looking for another veterinary colleague to join their growing team!
About Their Practice:
The practice is purpose-built with some great facilities, including an operating theatre, two dedicated consult rooms, a nurse consult room/x-ray room, as well as all the equipment you’d expect from a solid general practice, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab equipment, full multi-parameter monitoring equipment, and other essentials. The owners are also happy to discuss investing in additional equipment in the future, depending on your areas of interest.
You’ll be joining them at a very exciting time, where their brilliant team is forging new ideas for developing the practice further and providing the best levels of service and care they can to their loyal and growing client base.
You’ll be working alongside the Clinical Lead and Practice Owner, an experienced part-time veterinary surgeon, as well as a four-strong, experienced, and forward-thinking nursing team, including an RVN, Practice Manager, and Owner, and three incredible receptionists.
The Clinical Lead, who qualified from a reputable institution, has since developed a keen interest in exotics and is currently completing a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in Zoological Medicine, while also developing surgical and medicine skills.
About you:
As a new team, they’re looking for a veterinary surgeon with great communication skills who will be confident with routine neutering, procedures, and emergency and critical care. Confidence with periods of sole charge is ideal, though this would not be a regular part of the rota. This is a full or part-time role, with no out-of-hours and no routine weekends (though availability to cover weekends for holiday would be ideal) – The owners will provide as much flexibility with working hours as possible to find the work-life balance that suits you.
Their days are structured well with 15-minute consults as standard and time taken for lunch and admin factored into the day. They meet regularly as a team every 4 to 6 weeks with an open and flexible approach the rest of the time.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary of £40,000 to £65,000 FTE, commensurate with experience
- 5.6 weeks annual leave as standard (pro-rata for part-time)
- RCVS and VDS memberships are paid as well as the opportunity to have one other membership paid.
- Life Assurance 4 x Annual Salary
- Contributory Pension Scheme
- Dedicated CPD allowance including support towards Certificates
- Relocation Allowance
- Cycle to Work Scheme
- Access to Colleague Assistance Programmes – Retail Trust, Port of Call and MHFA
- Exclusive company discounts and rewards through their reward hub– including 20% off at Pets at Home, The Groom Room, and Vet Group
Not only are they offering a great role but the opportunity for a great lifestyle too! The practice is situated in a scenic area, close to idyllic beaches, dramatic coastlines, and scenic walks. Nearby towns have vibrant social scenes, and the area has good travel connections and ‘outstanding’ schools – a relocation package is available.
So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
