Job Description
Since opening in 2000, a locally-owned surgery has diligently provided the community with excellent care and service to its loyal client base. They now have an opportunity for a new Veterinary Surgeon to join their established team.
About Their Practice:
With more than 440 small animal practices nationwide, of varying sizes and shapes, a veterinary group is one of the largest UK veterinary groups, offering Veterinary Surgeons a range of opportunities, including the chance to run their own practice. What truly distinguishes this opportunity is its local management, providing their local teams with the time and opportunity to support their community. This means you can join a team that supports your individual needs while offering a tailored introduction to the practice, local community, and patient care!
The practice is independently run, supported by a fantastic team dedicated to delivering outstanding service in the community. Through this commitment, they have fostered a strong work ethic of “proud to be part of the team.” The team is supportive and encourages each other to achieve their career goals, with CPD and certificates highly encouraged. The management has worked tirelessly to create a rewarding work environment that ensures fair treatment for their team, resulting in excellent retention rates and continuity within the practice.
The surgery is ideally located just 7 miles from a major city center, offering cultural outings. For those who prefer countryside walks, nearby natural areas provide an excellent escape. It’s perfect for commuters, with convenient transportation options. Additionally, transportation hubs are easily accessible, opening up endless weekend adventures.
About you:
As the ideal candidate, you will possess strong surgical and diagnostic skills, alongside a willingness to explore and conduct thorough work-ups on cases, complementing the existing team. They have an amazing team of nurses who thrive on being kept busy, as well as a friendly front-of-house team consisting of receptionists. They offer a full-time vacancy of 40 hours per week with 1 in 3 weekends. There is no OOH requirement, and after working a weekend, you will have 3.5 days off… a very long weekend!
They understand the importance of achieving a good work-life balance. If full-time hours do not suit you, they are open to negotiating part-time hours for the right candidate.
Compensation & Benefits:
As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, they provide a supportive and friendly working environment, along with career development opportunities and an excellent package of benefits, including:
- Salary up to £65k (FTE), dependent on experience.
- An extremely generous relocation package of up to £5000, available for direct applicants only.
- Generous CPD, including certificate funding.
- No OOH and a negotiable rota to support work-life balance.
- Private healthcare.
- Paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, etc.).
So, if you have an ambition to be part of the future, please apply.
