Our client, a modern and dynamic veterinary practice, is looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Surgeon to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a well-equipped clinic committed to excellent customer service and pet healthcare.

Objectives

As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will join a small, hardworking team consisting of a practice owner and head vet, a full-time and part-time vet, a practice manager, a head nurse, a registered veterinary nurse, three veterinary care assistants, and three receptionists. Supported by a team of regular locum vets and nurses, you will contribute to delivering high-quality clinical and client care. The practice has a diverse case load, providing you with the opportunity to build your skills and develop strong bonds with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and non-routine consultations.
  • Perform surgical procedures in a well-equipped operating theatre.
  • Work up cases independently and collaboratively with the team.
  • Provide high-quality clinical and client care.
  • Maintain and operate the clinic’s modern facilities, including digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house laboratory, laser therapy, and a skin lump scanner.
  • Participate in a flexible rota, including approximately 1 in 3 Saturdays (8 am – 6 pm), ensuring a good work/life balance.

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS.
  • Experience in a first opinion practice.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Capable of sole charge.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and career aspirations.
