We have a great opportunity for you to relocate to Melbourne on a temporary or permanent basis. As well as soaking up the sun and the world-famous Australian culture, you’ll gain a wealth of new experiences and a rare chance to upgrade your skills.
You’ll be working in one of Melbourne’s largest vet practices, with a close-knit team of consultants, nurses, and support staff. Founded just 5 years ago, the practice has grown by leaps and bounds, relocating to a new, bigger facility 4 months ago.
Its booming popularity means you’ll experience lots of cases and surgery. You’ll have the chance to work on 70-80% complex and second-opinion cases, enabling you to expand your skills and manage cases that wouldn’t be possible in the UK. This is a unique opportunity open to all.
Mentoring and knowledge-sharing are key values for the practice, so you’ll be surrounded by colleagues who are eager to share what they know with you and teach you new skills. You’ll also get to mentor and develop younger consultants, giving you experience that will look great on your CV and the satisfaction of knowing you’ve made a real difference.
This practice is on a huge recruitment drive for the next 18 months, so now’s the time!
There are two visa options, and we’ll be happy to discuss which is right for you:
- Join on a working holiday visa – Work for this practice for up to a year to try out the location, lifestyle and practice. It only takes about 2 weeks to get the working holiday visa, and you could be working in Australia within the month! If you want to stay longer, you’ll be offered sponsorship options.
- Join on a sponsorship visa – Your skills are in high demand, and Melbourne is waiting for you. Although the visa processing time is a little longer, you could find yourself a permanent career in Australia within 6 months.
Located 25 minutes from Melbourne’s city centre, with great transport links, the practice is even offering to provide temporary accommodation while you get sorted and help towards a smooth transition. There really is no better place to experience living and working in Australia!
With a young team, plenty of training and development opportunities, and a reliable backbone of experienced vets, this practice will give you the chance to work in orthopaedic, soft tissue, endoscopy, CT scanner, LigaSure and CO2 Laser.
A great thing about the practice is that most of the leadership team are shareholders, meaning this isn’t a corporate business; decisions are made within the clinic, not outside it. It’s a friendly, open, and honest business that welcomes feedback from every team member. Many of the technicians are overseas students who are finishing their exams.
